February 16 to March 1: more than 14.705 million cotton parcels sourced to ginners: PCGA

The Pakistan Cotton Ginners Association (PCGA) fortnightly report demonstrates that around 14,705,853 cotton parcels were sourced to the ginners by March 1, which demonstrated an increment of 10.33 percent when contrasted with a year ago when ginneries got 1,33,28.667 bundles.

PCGA Chairman Hafeez Anwar informed writers here on Tuesday about seed-cotton (Phutti) landings, deals and unsold load of cotton. He said that 132.94586 cotton parcels were sold to the material units and exporters purchased 470,837 bundles. Exchanging Corporation obtained 94,900 bundles. Subsequently, general 13,860,323 bunches were exchanged as such. He said that PCGA was taking after the creation focus of Pakistan Central Cotton Committee. PCGA executive further said that aggregate 156 out of 1,200 ginning production lines (135 in Punjab and 21 in sindh) are operational.

He said that Punjab contributed 1,07,41,666 parcels which 12.18 percent more than a year ago when Punjab contributed 95,75,135 bundles , Sindh contributed 39,64,187 bunches which is 5.61 percent more than a year ago when it contributed 37,53,532 parcels and Balochistan 77,002 bundles. After the aggregate exchanging of 1,38,60,323 bunches, there are 8,45,530 bundles accessible with ginners as unsold stock.
